The goal of the 布鲁克林学院 GK-12城市作为实验室 projects was to improve science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) teaching and learning at multiple levels by developing authentic science experiences using Brooklyn’s many natural, cultural and professional resources. 这种教育重点有三个主要的捐助者：

Results of working with high school students on GK-12 projects were presented by fellows at annual GK-12 and American Association for the Advancement of Science (AAAS) conferences.
